It's not often you will hear an artist today talk about their connection with their mother. Kanye is the only artist today that has true passion for what he does with his music and they fact that he poorer his feelings into a song that clearly has deep meaning for him makes this song deserving of a higher spot!

Not only is this Kanye's greatest and most heartfelt song dedicated to his now deceased mother, Donda West, but it also represents a lot more than just a song. This is the song that Kanye still to this day has tears while performing. This song represents who Kanye truly is as an artist and a human being at his core and for that reason, this song deserves the #1 spot.

I feel like this song gets overlooked because of the love/hate relationship fans had with the album Yeezus. However, this song is the only one that crosses the border between the two types of fans. The lyrics are amazing, the beat is reminiscent of the maximalism on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and the haunting melodies on 808s and Heartbreak. This song brings me to tears very often when I play it: Kanye's ingenious comparison of black mob lynchings to a celebrity ruined love affair is incredible. In my opinion, this is Kanye's last classic. The raw emotion he had felt during MBDTF and 808s was fading into ego, and it did. That ego prevented the genius from Kanye to come back out, and when it did, it was in unconventional ways. Listen to all 6 minutes of it and be impressed with the genius of Mr. West.
